LET US HONOR YOU DURING YOUR LIFETIME
In 1634, ten Adventurers established Wethersfield as the first permanent English settlement in Connecticut. These Adventurers exhibited courage, vision and commitment to something they hoped would endure beyond their own lives….and it did. Today’s thriving Wethersfield community testifies to the foresight and determination of these leaders, and to those who followed their example over the past 375 years.
Wethersfield Historical Society was founded in 1932 by community leaders who cared deeply about preserving and sharing the history of this wonderful community. Today the society wants to ensure that those of you who have given so generously in the past and plan to give in the future, are honored for your vision, commitment and generosity.
If you make a bequest and let us know in advance, you will become a member of a very special group, theAdventurers Circle. (If you choose to remain anonymous, your wishes will be respected, and you will be acknowledged personally rather than publicly).
By becoming a member of the Adventurers Circle, you can:
- Make a lasting difference in your community
- Honor your family name
- Support your community after providing for your family
You may have already included the society in your estate planning. Your legacy gift to the society may be in the form of a bequest in your will, an insurance policy, pension plan, charitable remainder trust, a gift of real property or other gift.
We would like to recognize you. With your consent, your name will be added to the society’s Wall of Honor at the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center, seen by thousands of visitors each year. You will also be invited to specialAdventurers Circle events, where you will meet others who have left charitable bequests to the society.
